Message from the President
The holidays are coming!!....As I am writing this, I am excited as we are coming up to some very important events – our largest fundraiser, the 36th Annual HNC Craft Fair on Sunday, 11/24 and Thanksgiving Baskets and Gifts for Giving. I am hoping in the January 2014 newsletter I can report on the huge successes of all of these because I know the teams involved in getting these events going have been doing a fantastic job!
I need to give thanks for wonderful folks working hard on the Craft Fair – Cathy Lin Snyder, Danielle Ohman, Ingrid Dahlin-Doherty, Linda Lee, Karen Haynes and Hannah Tabbara.
From Thanksgiving Baskets - Melissa Beers, Kate Burnham, Holly Fischer-Engel and Jen Liebermann - and from Gifts for Giving – Trystan O’Leary, Gia Grappo, Kate Marion and Eileen Radcliffe!
You all stepped up and are working so hard and we thank you!
Also I cannot go again without saying how fantastic a first VP Hannah is – we had a fun night at the Barn at the Wine & Cheese Festivities on Friday, November 1st thanks to her hard work and effort bringing it all together! We had a lot of new folks, so was great to meet and get to know one another better! People were having so much fun we stayed until the very end!
I am also pleased to announce a new fundraiser I hope you and your families will be a part of also! On Saturday, December 14 at the Mount Hollis Lodge, 657 Washington Street we are offering a Gingerbread House Workshop – you put it together and have a blast decorating! For $30 a house – more than one child/person can work on one together – we will have all the fixings to build and decorate your house! All money raised will be earmarked to go to the Holliston Food Pantry!
Deanne Steffen, Pastry Chef from Blue Ginger, is donating her time and expertise, as well as making all of the gingerbread for us on 12/13. We do need help on 12/13 and 12/14 if anyone is interested – please contact Lisa Brown. You can also contact Lisa for any dietary/allergen questions - email@example.com.
Thanks Lisa for partnering with me to launch this new fundraiser and please invite non-HNC member friends as well as this is a public event. Please sign up via Paypal for your choice of seating (11:30 am-12:30 pm, 1 pm-2 pm and 2:30 pm-3:30pm). See the Family Activities Tab. Reserve your spot soon – we can only accommodate 18/19 houses per seating and the 10 am has sold out.
Also don’t forget - Santa is coming to Visit HNC kids! Be sure to reserve your spot! Have you been naughty or nice? – he knows! For more information see the Family Activities Tab and/or contact Fran Pleska.
Get ready for Gifts for for Giving! Check out the article inside for how you can be involved – there are so many options to make the holidaysspecial for kids who need and deserve it.
Ladies Escape on Thursday, December 12 is a Cookie Exchange so start picking your Holiday Cookie recipes. YUM!
Friendly reminder the next Board Meeting is Wednesday, December 11 so please plan to attend – we will have a lot to talk about from November and also need to look ahead to 2014 and the Civic Committee’s offerings, Dinner Club, 10k planning, Touch-a-Truck and so much more!
Have a wonderful, happy and healthy holiday season surrounded by family and friends, however you celebrate!
I am so thankful for all of you – it has been wonderful working with you all and getting to know you better in the process. It has totally enriched my life these last few months.
Thanks so much!
