The Holliston Newcomers Club is a nonprofit organization that coordinates charitable, civic, educational and recreational events and activities in the town of Holliston, Massachusetts. Our goal is to encourage association among community members and to foster community spirit. Our membership is open to both residents and non-residents of Holliston, and you need not be new to the area to join.

You're invited to the
June General Membership Meeting
June 15, 2016

Dear Friends in the Holliston Newcomers Club,
We are calling a General Membership meeting.
The purpose of our meeting is to elect a new Board in order for general membership to reverse the decision to dissolve the Newcomers Club. We strongly encourage all dues paying members and honorary members to attend this important meeting. Please watch your email for a letter coming from your current Board explaining our current situation, and the background leading to the decision to dissolve HNC.

Below is a list of board positions that urgently need to be filled. If you are interested in any of these positions please email Lee Kauffman at 2ndvp.hollistonnewcomers@gmail.com.

Your 2015-2016 Holliston Newcomers Board

Executive Board
Presides over monthly General and Board meetings. Prepares the year's Budget with the Treasurer. Oversees all Club details.

First Vice President
Organizes the monthly General Meetings. Assists President as needed.

Second Vice President
Liaison for new members. Maintains membership list on computer and collects dues. Acts as Co-Chairperson of Welcome Gatherings.
 Maintains financial records and files the necessary forms for Federal and State regulations.
Corresponding Secretary
Sends out "New Baby" and "Get Well" cards, as well as other correspondence.
Recording Secretary
Takes and reads the minutes at both general and monthly Board Meetings.
General Board Positions
(Positions listed in bold are official Board positions. Attendance at monthly Board meetings is required)
(number refers to how many are needed to fill slots)
 Parliamentarian (1)
Acts as adviser on all voting and business procedures. Prepares ballot for future club positions. Chairs nominating committee. Installs Executive Board.
Hospitality (1)
Assists First Vice President with planning and executing General Meetings.

Ways & Means - Craft Fair Chairpersons (4-6)
Coordinates annual Craft Fair, including overseeing subcommittees.
Ways & Means - Touch-a-Truck (2-3)
Plans all aspects of the annual Touch-a-Truck fundraiser
Publicity (1)
Write articles for media and cable station regarding Club events. Provides and executes creative ways to publicize club events throughout the year. Maintains a scrapbook of events that take place throughout the year.
Welcome Gatherings (3)
Organizes gatherings for potential new members about three times a year.
Couples Activities (3-5)
Organizes Wine & Cheese General Meetings and other couples events throughout the year.
Family Activities (3-5)
Organizes family-oriented events throughout the year. Organizes float for "Celebrate Holliston." Oversees the following subcommittees:
Playgroup Coordinator (1)
Children's Day Trips (2)
Santa Visit Coordinator (1-2)
Club Activities (1)
Organizes club activities throughout the year. Oversees the following subcommittees:
Ladies Escapes (2-4)
Dinner Club (3-5)
Book Club (2-3)
Newsletter - Editor (1)
Collects articles from Board and Committee members, and creates monthly newsletter to be distributed to Club members.
Website Coordinator (1)
Oversees all aspects of the Club's website.
Civic Activities (2-3)
Organizes community education opportunities, i.e., CPR and First Aid. Oversees the following subcommittees:
Thanksgiving Baskets (4)
Community Outreach (3)
Gifts for Giving (4)
Friendly Visits (2)
Food Pantry (1)
Community Investments (7) 
Coordinates grant applications and appropriations of fundraising funds.
