| Message from the PresidentIt is April already. Are you ready for spring? We certainly are! March was a wonderful month in many ways. For starters, we thank Betsy Maxwell for her diligent work to rally our wonderful members who collectively created and delivered more than 60 colorful Easter Baskets for the children served by the Holliston Food Pantry. Thank you also to the many members who to show their support during our Easter Meals for Seniors event. What a gratifying way to enjoy such a special holiday!
Just
a few days ago, the Newcomers Club met to make important decisions on awarding
grants within our community. We now
invite all to attend our Annual Grant
Celebration on Wednesday, April 24
at 7 pm at the Holliston
Historical Barn. We have so much to be
proud of, and we look forward to distributing grants to many recipients once
again for such worthy causes that benefit our community. Please put this day on your calendar to
celebrate another successful year. It is
open to the whole community. Now that we’ve seen the last snowflake and anticipate new flowers to bloom, take a look at other upcoming events for April, May, and June. Ladies Escapes at Palettes will be held on Monday, April 29. Our Welcome Gathering is Sunday, May 19. We’re hosting a free picnic for the whole family with games and prizes. The Newcomers Book Club also meets each month for interesting reads and socializing, whether you read a few pages or maybe the whole book. Also, do not miss our Annual Touch-a-Truck to be held on Saturday, June 1. This is a great family event, showcasing all sorts of trucks and tractors that kids will adore to look at and climb on.
As President, I am asking for your support as we close out our term in June. There will be many open positions that need to be filled on the Board or committees. It is not hard work and requires only a few hours a month—we never forget to have fun along the way. Please give it some thought and contact me with any questions.
Enjoy the spring. I’m looking forward to seeing you!
