Message from the President
I am so excited to welcome you all to the 2014-2015 Holliston Newcomers Club year. I have meet with many committees’ over the past month, and I can’t wait for all the wonderful events they have been planning to begin! I have been so impressed with all the great ideas that the committee members are thinking up this year.
I would like to make you all aware that there are still some board positions that are pretty critical to the club that still need to be filled. Please consider helping out.
Community Investments, Family Activities, Civic Activities, Community Outreach, Children’s Day Trips.
We have some great activities coming up-our first event is our Cheese Tasting/ Activities Fair on September 11 at the Holliston Historical Society House from 7-9pm. Please join us to taste and learn about some wonderful cheese from 7-8pm, then meet our committees from 8-9pm to learn and sign up for all the fun events we have to offer this year.
Please help us help our students in need with our back to school food drive, which will help benefit the children of the families that use our food pantry in town. This event will take place on September 13 at Shaw’s in Ashland 10-2pm. The Book Club will be meeting on September 16 at 7:30pm; Please join them for another great read.The next exciting event to follow is Celebrate Holliston which will be held on September 20. We will be marching in the parade at 9am, then partaking in the field day from 10-4pm. Please check with Erin or Anuja for more info.
September is membership renewal month-please don’t forget to renew your membership so you and your family can join us for all our great events. Membership has gone up this year to $25. You can fill out the membership form at the end of the newsletter and mail it in or go to our webpage and pay using pay pal.
Ladies Night out is celebrating the start of the year with a wine and cupcake night on October 2 from7-9pm. Come find out what cupcake goes with your favorite wine! Up next is our College Throw Back Night- come and party like you did when you were in college and don’t forget to wear your college colors with pride! I know I wish I could have one more night at college-if you do too, now is your chance! Join us on October 24 at the Holliston Historical Society Barn from 7-10pm.
November 23 marks our largest fundraiser of the year, the CRAFT FAIR, from 9-4pm. Make sure you are at the Activates Fair so you can sign up for your favorite shift! It is a requirement as being a member that you volunteer 2 hours at the Craft Fair and bake 2 bake items for our bake table.I want to thank all of you for being an HNC Member and caring about this wonderful community we live in as much as I do. I know that together we can all make this the best HNC year yet!
