Message from the President

Dear Newcomers,

I sit here today writing my newsletter article for January and I am surrounded by so many presents that still need to be wrapped for Christmas. I hope you all enjoyed your holidays with your loved ones.

I want to thank Tracey Geden and Lisa Brown for another fantastic gingerbread decorating event. We of course couldn’t have done this without Blue Ginger Pastry Chef Deanne Steffen and the Mount Hollis Lodge of Holliston. We thank them so much for donating their time and hall to us each year. We hope to see you all back next year for another amazing event.

I especially need to thank Fran Pleska for setting up such wonderful Santa visits for the Newcomers’ children. I do need to dedicate a special thank you to the “Santas” who took time out of their busy schedules to come and see the wonderful kiddos. I hope everyone enjoyed his or her time with Santa and has been especially good since his visit.

I would also like to thank the Adkin Family for opening up their home to membership to let us put together meals for senior citizens in town for Christmas. I know Kim’s children enjoy doing this project each year, but without families like these in our membership we couldn’t continue to service the community like we do. I thank all of you who also took the time to make, assemble and deliver these meals. Thank you so much.

I hope that if you were unable to donate time to the club this past year, you will be able to volunteer for one of our events in 2015. For me, it is the best feeling in the world to help out this community, and I hope you get the pleasure to do so as well.

We are having a Board Meeting on Thursday, January 29 from 7-9pm should you wish to join us. The location is TBA but will be announced closer to the date.

I want to thank all of this year’s membership for an amazing start to a
great year.

With much gratitude,

Danielle Ohman
