Message from the President
I can't believe its already February. The club becomes very quiet during the months of January and February I think we are all just trying to catch our breath from all the fall happenings. I hope you are all taking this time to enjoy your families on these cold winter days and nights.
We will soon be starting the grant process, which is the most rewarding time of year for HNC. I hope that once the snow melts and the birds starting chirping again we will all get back to our busy schedules and meet at playgroups and head out for Touch A Truck.
We are getting ready for our Grant season to begin. We do have our grant applications out and can't wait to start the most important part of HNC. I wanted to thank Tracey Geden for stepping up and taking on Community Investments. We all have worked tirelessly this year and I know all our hard work will be able to help out this community in so many ways this year.
In March Tracey Geden is recruiting for Easter baskets for the children of our community and Paula Demarkey has again offered to host Easter Meal assembly for seniors of our town on Easter Morning. Please feel free to contact them if you would like to help out with either of these great projects.
Don’t forget that book club meets on the third Tuesday of every month. So be sure to check out Mirembe’s Article about what amazing book they will be reading this month.
In May, we are looking forward to once again celebrating the past year. Please be sure to check the following newsletters for details about the Summer Picnic which will be open to Newcomers members only.
Craft Fair 2016 is already starting the planning process. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the Ways & Means members if you would like to help with the planning or the actual Craft Fair day. This is our largest fundraiser of the year.
Please mark your calendar with the date November 20, 2016 so you can be sure you are ready for your 2 hours of fame (volunteer shift) at the best craft fair around.
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day with the ones you love..
