We celebrated a successful fundraising year and presented awards to many wonderful recipients within our community. The hard work and dedication of the Newcomers Club members made the donations possible. Thank you for donating and supporting the Holliston Newcomers Club Easter Basket Event with the Pantry Shelf!

This year we continued our partnership with the Holliston Pantry Shelf to fulfill requests for Easter Baskets for children ranging from a few months old to teenagers. We were able to get volunteers assigned to all 71 requests!

This event would not have been able to take place without the support of the community. Families, individuals, businesses and local organizations participated to make Easter even better for children of all ages! Individuals got creative and had raffles and collected donations to cover even more baskets. Volunteers went above and beyond and put so much love and thought into each donation!

Many sincere thanks to all who volunteered we cannot thank you enough for supporting the food pantry!

Also, a special thanks to Fiske's General Store for offering a discount and putting together some of the Easter Baskets, we received great feedback on how easy it was and how wonderful they looked!

General Meeting March 23

posted Mar 14, 2017, 11:41 AM by Holliston Newcomers   [ updated Mar 20, 2017, 3:01 PM ]

Please join us on Thursday, March 23 for the HNC General Meeting. We will be meeting at 7:00pm at the Holliston Historical Society House, located at 547 Washington Street.

At this meeting, we will be discussing vital club business so it is imperative that every member attend if possible. Among the discussion topics:

  • Community Investments Committee (CIC); This year, we raised enough funds to cover all requested grants! The CIC is excited to share and discuss all of the grant applicants with membership and how your hard work fundraising will directly impact Holliston.
  • Open Board Positions; As of now, ALL positions (Executive Board and Committees) are OPEN for next year. If we do not fill these roles, the club will not be able to continue.

As you can see, there are several challenges the club is currently facing, and in order for us to continue to operate, give back to our community, and host fun social activities, we NEED active member participation.

Please email the HNC Executive Board with any questions at HNCExecutiveBoard@gmail.com

We hope to see you on the 23rd!

Easter Baskets 2017

posted Jan 19, 2017, 1:03 PM by Holliston Newcomers   [ updated Mar 2, 2017, 11:20 AM ]

Hi Everyone,

We have a timeline for the Easter Baskets! I will have a list of participants and basket ideas on March 27th.

How it works:
Families sign up with the Holliston Pantry Shelf and provide the child's gender, age and some ideas of what the child likes or specific interests. You let me know if you would like to participate in making a $25-30 basket and how many baskets or gift cards you would like to donate, then I will send you the information. Drop off will be at my home on Friday, April 7 in the evening, and on Saturday, April 8. I will post drop off times once I get the list (baskets/gift cards do not get dropped off at the food pantry).

We are also continuing our partnership with Fiske's in Holliston. You will be able to pick your basket at the store, get 20% off items and they will put your basket together!
  • Ages 0-3 get a $25 gift card to either Babies R Us or Toys R Us
  • Ages 4-13 get a $25-$30 Easter Basket
  • Ages 14-18 get a $25 gift card to Target, Fiske’s or CVS

If you already know that you would like to participate you can email me (melissa.a.cloutier@gmail.com) the following information and I will follow up with you once I get the list:

  • Your name and best way to contact you
  • Number of Easter Baskets you would like to donate
  • If you prefer to donate a $25 gift card

Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your support!

posted Dec 7, 2016, 9:50 AM by Holliston Newcomers

We know this is a busy time of year for everyone but we are hoping that you can find some time in your schedule to attend our holiday ornament exchange. This is a fun opportunity to mix and mingle while getting to know some new people.

The event will be on Thursday, December 15th at 7:00 PM at the home of Kimberly Adkin, 43 Kingsbury Dr. Please bring one wrapped ornament (cost $10 or less) with your name on it to the party. We will be playing a short right left exchange game that will still leave us with plenty of time to socialize.

Please RSVP to Kim at kadkin48@gmail.com or respond to our Evite to let us know you will be attending.

We hope to see you on the 15th.
