Message from the President

Dear Newcomers,

I want to wish you all a wonderful holiday season. I hope you all find love, laughter and happiness during this wonderful time of year. I wanted to tell you all about a great tradition right here in Holliston. I live on the best street in Holliston -I bet we all say this- but I do. During the holidays, a wonderful neighbor of mine puts up wooden holiday displays on each yard on my street – it is the most wonderful thing to see all lit up at night. I hope you will all come take a drive down Regal Street and check out these light displays; you may even catch a glimpse of Santa in his sleigh some nights.

I am writing this article the day after Craft Fair and cannot believe how amazing this past weekend was. I want to thank you all so much for your hard work and determination to make Holliston Newcomers Club so special. A special thank you to the Thanksgiving Basket team – without all you amazing ladies on Saturday morning, 169 families wouldn’t be eating Thanksgiving meals. And to the Craft Fair committee and volunteers: you all hold a special place in my heart. I can’t stress how nervous I was for the event, but once it started it was so great. I thank all of you who made this event-filled weekend the most memorable one I will have for a very long time. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Here are a few things to look forward to this month before we all get too caught up in the holiday craze. On Tuesday, December 2 from 7-9pm the Ladies’ Night Out team is throwing a “Favorite Things Party.” Bring your favorite appetizer, dip or dessert and share the recipe! If you'd like, please join us in a Favorite Things Exchange! Think of something you LOVE that costs $6 or less, then bring five of that item. We will draw names at the party and everyone will go home with five amazing new finds!

Gingerbread house decorating is back, and the houses are selling fast so please don’t forget to go on to our webpage and pay for your house with PayPal. This is one event you don’t want to miss. It will be held on Saturday, December 13 at the Mount Hollis Lodge in Holliston. There will be multiple seating times to choose from: 10-11am, 11:30am-12:30pm, 1-2pm,  2:30-3:30pm.

Lastly but certainly not least, don’t forget that Santa is coming to visit the kids of HNC! Please contact Fran Pleska for further details on how Santa can come and be sure to remind your kiddos to stay off the naughty list before Christmas.

I wish you all the best and can’t thank you enough for all of your support through our busiest month of the year.

With much gratitude,

Danielle Ohman
