Message from the President
Dear Newcomers,I can’t tell you how happy I am to see the flowers blooming and hear the birds chirping again. I hope you have all enjoyed April and your April vacation. I know I am truly happy to be back outside and enjoying all the amazing things Holliston has to offer.
I would like to thank Tracey Geden for all her hard work on the Easter Baskets this year for the food pantry. I would also like to thank Paula DeMarkey and her family for hosting the Easter meals for the senior citizens of our town. They both have made a huge difference this Easter. I would also like to thank all the amazing Newcomers members who gave to these amazing projects. Without members like you, we wouldn’t be able to complete these projects. Thank you.
In May, we are looking forward to celebrating the past year. I would like to invite all Newcomers members to a Summer Picnic. Please bring the entire family for fun in the sun at Stoddard Park on May 17 from 1pm to 3:30pm. Please join us in celebrating all our hard work this year and to congratulate all of our 2015 grant recipients. There will be formal invitations to follow.
Mark your calendar for our annual Touch-a-Truck event on June 6 (with a rain date of June 7). Bring the kids to climb on and get inside some really cool trucks and bikes. Be sure to check out the Touch-a-Truck article for all the info you need.We are looking to fill some Board and committee positions for next year so please be sure to contact Lee Kauffman, Parliamentarian, if you are interested in becoming part of a great team.
All committee members - please document all you do in a binder to pass on to the next committee person/people who take over if you are not continuing on. We would also like an electronic copy of all documents sent to Melissa Beers and myself by the Installation dinner so we can forward all info on to the next committee. Thank you so much to all of you who have helped make this year so successful. You are all truly an inspiration to me. Our next Board meeting will be May 28 at 7pm, location TBA.
I hope to see you all at our fun in the sun picnic.
