Message from the President

Happy New Year! I can’t believe it is 2012. The holiday season was packed with good food, good friends, and good times. Sounds a lot like our Club! I would like to thank the Gifts-for-Giving Committee (Eileen Radcliffe, Trystan O’Leary, April Maranhao, and Sue Nersessian) for organizing the program this year, as well as all of our generous members who donated gifts. I would also like to thank Kim Adkin for hosting and coordinating our Community Outreach Christmas meal. Thanks also to the members who cooked, assembled, and delivered meals on Christmas day.

2012 promises to be an exciting year for the Club with lots to do for the whole family. The year will start with our

General Meeting
on January 11
upstairs at Casey’s Crossing. We will hold an old-fashioned “white elephant” Yankee Swap.

The Community Investments Committee has begun their work on the grants process. Soon they will be collecting applications and scoring grants. Our Food Pantry liaison, Jen Dietz, is launching the “Get FRESH” program. The 10K Committee is hard at work planning our 2

nd Annual 10K Road Race, and the Touch-a-Truck Committee will soon begin the planning stages for this year’s event. Both of these committees have a great group of volunteers, and there is always room for more. Now is the perfect time to join in because “many hands make light work,” and there are “veteran” members on both committees.

As always Children’s Day Trips and Ladies Escapes have fun events planned for this month. It is never too late to join a playgroup, the Book Club, or Dinner Club. If you have not made it to any of our events in the past, please make it your New Year’s resolution to attend at least one event.

Hope to see you soon!

Julie
